Would you like to work in a rewarding job helping others whilst having access to a wide range of training options to further your personal and professional development?

If so we are looking for Support Workers to deliver high quality support at our Grimsby service. You will join our dedicated floating support team in providing assistance to individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, people who are at risk of offending and individuals with mental health conditions.

The focus of this work is to support people to develop the necessary skills to maximise their independence in the community and lead a more fulfilling life, by providing additional help such as learning life skills such as cooking or budgeting and providing emotional support and befriending.

Our Grimsby service encourages individuals to get support in a group settling, as well as identify their own goals and priorities. We enable and empower tenants to find sustainable, long-term accommodation in the local community.

As a Support Worker your duties will include:

  • Liaising with other community groups/agencies to drive the project forward and enable us to offer a wide variety of activities within the groups
  • Supporting individuals accessing the service in financing and budgeting, benefit maximisation, as well as general health and wellbeing and living skills

Whist experience providing support/other services to vulnerable adults is desirable, it is not essential. We welcome applications from warm, caring, well-motivated individuals who can show that their ethics match up to our person centered model of care.

We provide full ongoing training in all aspects of the job. Our training is provided by the Creative Academy who recently received the Investors in People GOLD award for the wonderful work that they do.

Due to wider travel across the Grimsby and Cleethorpes areas for our floating support service a clean, valid driving license with access to a car is essential for this Support Worker role.

“What I enjoy most about this role is seeing the outcomes and progression for individuals we support on a daily basis. You can really see you are making a difference by providing life changing support for people.” – Michelle, member of our North East Lincolnshire support team
