We Care Award Winners!

We Care Award Winners!

Thank you so much to everyone who submitted a We Care Award nomination. We are delighted to announce the winners of our latest round of awards, as chosen by our panel.

These awards recognise the people and teams who personify our ‘We Care’ values (Welcoming, Empowering, Compassionate, Aspirational, Respectful, Effective) and have delivered positive outcomes.

Congratulations to all of our most recent winners:

Silver Award

Natalie Stanley, Support Worker – Wakefield

Natalie helped create a comfortable environment for the people she supports in Wakefield. She has shown genuine care by volunteering to repaint and redesign people’s homes, recognising the importance of having a home that is welcoming, uplifting and personalised to individual taste. A senior colleague said Natalie “goes far beyond routine duties and truly embodies compassionate values which are at the heart of our service.”

A family member of a person that Natalie supports was very grateful to her for supporting their relative with redecorating and redesigning their home. A fresh lick of paint, new wallpaper, and exciting ornaments on display can truly make a difference – so thank you, Natalie, for supporting people to live in a place they can proudly call ‘home’.

Cranleigh Court Staff Team – Manchester

Having taken over support provision in August 2024, the staff team at Cranleigh Court have worked tirelessly to adopt our We Care values into every aspect of the service. In less than a year, the team supported people to create the Cranleigh Band. They have performed at several events, including the Be Free Festival and at our Annual General Meeting. We even have a video of the band on our Youtube channel!

The staff team are quick take on new training initiatives, to sharpen their knowledge and develop their skills for the people they support. They also help organise regular events like BBQs, sports days and day trips, making each person we support feel part of the community. People living at Cranleigh Court have said they are now “much happier” in the service. Good job everyone!

Gary Middleton, Support Worker – Middlesborough

Gary was nominated for a We Care Award by Cassie, someone Gary supports. Cassie wanted to nominate Gary for helping to look after her chickens at an allotment. As an avid animal lover, it was important to Cassie that she had a someone who also shared an interest in animals.

Cassie was delighted that Gary had a keen enthusiasm for birds and spoke about different breeds, interesting facts, and best methods to keep the hens happy! Cassie said she “really appreciated” all the effort Gary put into her interest and how he empowered her to look after the chickens.

Dignity in Care

Warwick Drive Staff Team – Manchester

Solution-focused and proactive, the team at Warwick Drive complement each other’s strengths, with each member bringing something unique to the service. This year, staff advocated for a person they support who was in hospital, sharing vital health information and working tirelessly with professionals every day to make sure she got the right care.

Their consistent, team-based approach provides emotional stability and greater independence for the people they support. They support individuals to share weekly updates with their loved ones and have worked closely with people to encourage them to talk about their health and wellbeing, creating an open and honest environment within the service.
