Benefits of being a volunteer

Volunteering can be beneficial to you in so many different ways, by volunteering with Creative Support you can:

Build your confidence

Volunteering is a great way to build your confidence by trying new things, learning and developing skills and meeting new people, all of which can help give your confidence a boost and provide you with a great sense of purpose.

Make a difference

Working in your volunteering role, you will be able to see the difference you can bring to the lives of others. Whether that be through supporting people to access the community as a befriender, running an arts, music or gardening session, or in a crisis support volunteer role supporting those struggling with their mental health.

Meet new people

Throughout your time volunteering you will get to meet new people including service users, staff and other volunteers through groups and peer support networks. Meeting new people can build your confidence, combat loneliness and improve your wellbeing.

Become a part of a community

Volunteering is a great way to connect with your local community, as well as becoming part of the Creative Support volunteering community. You will be able to connect with other Creative Support volunteers through the peer support networks and the monthly newsletters.

Learn new skills

Whether you are a student looking to increase your skills for your C.V, a career changer who would like to gain some experience before you apply for another job, or you simply have some spare time and would like to give something back, as a volunteer we can support you to gain new skills. In your role, you will receive training to support you on your journey.
