Anna’s Blog – Have Your Say on Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

The Government is currently reviewing the effectiveness of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and assessing how it works for people living with disabilities and long-term health conditions. This review, which is called the Timms Review, is a chance to share your experience if you receive PIP, and say how you think the current system can better serve the people it’s designed to support.

The purpose of PIP is to help towards the extra costs people living with disabilities and long-term health conditions face. The Timms Review was introduced to ensure that the system is fair, fit-for-the-future, and sufficiently supports better living standards and independence.

As well as those who receive PIP, the organisations representing them and professionals who support them can also share their experiences with the Timms Review. This means the people we support who receive PIP and the staff who support them can submit evidence.

This is an opportunity to share feedback directly, and your evidence can be submitted as an online written submission. The deadline to submit evidence is Thursday 28th May 2026, so there’s still time to have your say. If you would like support to make a submission, please email welfare.rights@creativesupport.co.uk.

Important information: evidence submission

You can share your experience using the online form, which allows you to fill an answer box. Other ways to submit your evidence include:

Feedback must address the following four key themes:

  • The role and purpose of PIP
  • Eligibility, fairness and equity in the award of PIP
  • Experience of claiming PIP
  • Changing context and the impact of PIP.

If you do share evidence in the Timms Review and would like to tell us about it so we can share it on the Creative Support social media pages, please email communications@creativesupport.co.uk
