Creative Stars – September Winners!
Congratulations to our latest round of Creative Stars winners!
Our awards for the people we support celebrate the people who shine brightly and do wonderful things for each other. We have four exciting category winners, who will receive a badge, £30 Love2Shop voucher and a certificate.
Congratulations to this month’s round of winners:

Ruthie Makepeace
Stockton-on-Tees

When a staff member began to choke during their usual Sunday lunch outing, Ruthie leapt into action without a moment’s hesitation. Drawing on her recent First Aid training, she acted calmly and confidently to help dislodge the obstruction.
Her quick thinking and bravery turned what could have been a frightening situation into a moment of real heroism. We are extremely proud of Ruthie for her composure, care and for putting her skills into action when it mattered most. Well done Ruthie, your courage is inspirational!

Dennis
Wigan, Greater Manchester

Dennis has a real passion for nature and is always thinking about how to care for the environment around him. Earlier this year, he shared his wish to create a flower planter and with a little support, he chose his favourite flowers and got to work.
Now, Dennis proudly tends to his beautiful pots each evening, making sure the flowers continue to bloom and provide food for bees and other wildlife. His enthusiasm for gardening has even inspired plans for a bigger, greener project next year!
Dennis’ creativity, protection of and dedication to the natural world make him a true Eco-Friendly Star.

Robert
Morecambe

Robert has consistently shown kindness, care and genuine concern for others – qualities that brighten the day of everyone around him. During a recent
outing with his support staff, Alison, Robert noticed she began coughing and was struggling to catch her breath. Without hesitation, he checked she was okay, opened the car door for her and gently patted her on the back until she recovered.
Alison was incredibly proud of Robert’s calm, caring response – especially knowing that unexpected moments can sometimes be challenging for him.
His thoughtful actions and empathy truly reflect the positive and compassionate spirit we celebrate through this award!

Charlie
Bury, Greater Manchester

As he set out to take part in the 10K Bury Run to raise funds for charity, Charlie acted with great courage after witnessing a woman collapse nearby. Drawing on his St John Ambulance Cadet training, Charlie immediately took control of the situation by clearing space, checking for injuries, placing the woman in the recovery position and calmly coordinating with 999 to ensure she received the right support. He even arranged for an interpreter so that the woman could communicate clearly with the call handler when shecame around.
After making sure she was safe, Charlie thanked everyone involved before continuing on to complete the race.
His quick thinking and selflessness are a shining example of our community values!
