Creative Stars June Winners!

Creative Stars June Winners!

Congratulations to our latest round of Creative Stars winners!
Our service user awards celebrate the people who shine brightly and do wonderful things for each other. We have four exciting category winners, who will receive a badge, £30 Love2Shop voucher and a certificate.

Congratulations to this month’s round of winners:

High Flyer Award- Stephen Lloyd, Northampton

Stephen is really enthusiastic and keen to help at any time with events and trips. He is a “pleasure to support” and has a positive outlook towards the challenges he faces when trying to achieve his goals, recently winning medals for bowls!

Stephen also works alongside the NHS providing Oliver McGowan mandatory training to professionals around Northampton as an expert with lived experience. He has recently completed his tier 2 training course and is looking forward to delivering the next stage of training.

Congratulations Stephen – you certainly deserve this high-flyer award for your achievements!

Eco-friendly Award – Carole Smith, Halifax

For the last 14 years, every week (missing only once in 14 years!) Carole has completed the recycling of the whole building by herself. Carole ensures all the bins are clean inside and all items are in the correct bins and boxes, putting them out into the car park ready for the recycling wagon.

Carole completes this in all weathers without being asked, never expecting anything for her efforts. On her birthday this year, all of her fellow tenants showed their appreciation, clubbing together to give her a voucher as a thank you for all she does.

Wow Carole! This is a huge commitment, it’s amazing you have been able to support your fellow tenants with this task for so long.

Positivity Award – Amanda, Hull

Amanda is a joyful lady who takes part in in every activity and event that happens at her service, and encourages fellow tenants to get involved too.

Recently, Amanda attended a job fair at Hull KC Stadium representing Creative Support, and “really enjoyed” sharing her stories with attendees, proudly telling people how happy she is living in her service. She had such a good time that when she got back to her service, she told other people we support, who now want to go to the next job fair! Amanda also volunteers in the canteen every Friday, ensuring she talks to everyone, and always checks everyone is happy with their meal.

Thank you Amanda – your whole service benefits from the joy, energy and positivity you bring each and every day!

Community Champion Award– Huw W, Whitby

While on a day trip to Scarborough from Whitby, Huw found a wallet that had been lost. Huw felt it was important to try to return the lost item to its owner as it had lots inside it. Staff supported Huw to find contact details from within the wallet and left a message that it would be handed into a café across the street. Later that day, Hew received a phone call from the wallet’s owner, who had been beside themselves with worry. They were extremely thankful and told Huw how much they appreciated his honesty and the effort he made to make sure they got their belongings back.

Well done Huw! Your honesty, pro-activity, and problem solving skills made a real difference.
