Creative Stars – August Winners!
Congratulations to our latest round of Creative Stars winners!
Our awards for the people we support celebrate the people who shine brightly and do wonderful things for each other. We have four exciting category winners, who will receive a badge, £30 Love2Shop voucher and a certificate.
This month’s round of winners are:
High Flyer Award – Dean Hollow, Doncaster
As a lifelong Formula 1 fan, Dean recently fulfilled his dream of attending the F1 at Silverstone – an experience he eagerly looked forward to.
Seeing the racing in person took Dean’s love for the sport to a whole new level. Despite some health challenges, Dean remained positive and was determined to make his dream a reality. He was so excited and told everyone, “I’m going to Silverstone!”
This is a lovely reminder to always pursue the things you love. We hope you had an incredible time at Silverstone, Dean. May this be the first of many more bucket-list experiences to come. Congratulations on your well-deserved award!
Eco-friendly Award – Sam, Morecambe
Sam has been putting his creativity and passion for recycling to fantastic use, finding imaginative ways to give unwanted materials a brand-new purpose. Each day, he collects unwanted appliances and carefully takes them apart, saving magnets, metal pieces and wires to transform them into something new.
Anything Sam can’t reuse is taken to be recycled, ensuring as little as possible goes to waste. His commitment to looking after our planet is wonderful to see, and his creativity proves that any item can be given a new lease of life.
Congratulations Sam, this is such important work and you’ve been doing a fantastic job!
Positivity Award – Lindsey Scott, Salford
Lindsey is our positivity champion this month, after showing incredible resilience during some difficult health challenges. Lindsey has been working through her recovery and since returning home, she has got back into the habit of doing things that bring her comfort and happiness. This includes attending music and sensory sessions, eating her favourite meals, spending time with her family and helping to plant and water flowers in the garden!
Lindsey is a “light in everyone’s life”. Her smiles, interactions and moments of excitement bring so much happiness to everyone around her.
Congratulations, Lindsey! You are a ray of sunshine and admired by all who know you.
Community Champion Award – Russell Clinning, Fleetwood
Russell recently took on an exciting new challenge by completing his very first charity run! He joined hundreds of other participants for a 3km colour run and threw himself into the experience. Russell enjoyed the warm-up party and plenty of colourful fun along the way.
Russell did brilliantly throughout the course, proudly crossing the finish line and receiving a well-earned medal to mark his achievement. To top it all off, he raised an amazing £95 for charity through his efforts.
Congratulations, Russell! Completing your first charity run is a brilliant achievement and a fantastic way to support a great cause.

Creative Stars are judged by people we support, and you can take part by hosting a judging panel for one of the monthly rounds.
Holding a judging panel at your service is a great way to have your say and find out about all the amazing achievements of people we support across the country.
We will send you all the nominations, guidance and some special merchandise to say thank you.
