Creative Stars – July Winners!
Congratulations to our latest round of Creative Stars winners!
Our awards for the people we support celebrate the people who shine brightly and do wonderful things for each other. We have four exciting category winners, who will receive a badge, £30 Love2Shop voucher and a certificate.
This month’s round of winners are:
High Flyer Award – Linda Bell, Wandsworth
Linda’s passion for arts and crafts has taken her on an incredible journey, making her a very deserving winner of our High Flyer award. Her strong attention to detail shines through in everything she creates, resulting in some truly beautiful pieces of artwork.
Linda has proudly had her work exhibited at the Tate Modern and other art galleries, with some of her pieces even being purchased! This is an amazing achievement and well deserved recognition of her hard work.
Well done Linda, we can’t wait to see where your creativity takes you next!
Eco-friendly Award – Paul Gravell, Tower Hamlets
Thanks to Paul’s enthusiasm for keeping his local surroundings clean and tidy, his community is looking better than ever! Paul can often be found with a litter picker and bin bag in hand, clearing rubbish from outdoor spaces and encouraging others to take pride in their surroundings.
Having previously volunteered as a litter picker along the canals, Paul has inspired the creation of a monthly Litter Picking Club. He now takes the lead, alongside his friends and neighbours, helping to keep the local community clean, safe and enjoyable for everyone. You should be so proud Paul, keep up the fantastic work!
Positivity Award – Andrew Worthington, Bolton
Andrew has made some fantastic progress recently, becoming much more involved with activities and people around him. He can often be found colouring, singing, laughing and enjoying quality time with others. Andrew has also grown in confidence with his reading and favourite hobbies.
Those around Andrew have said how wonderful it has been to see him feeling happier, more confident and increasingly independent. Next, he is hoping to develop his cooking skills by preparing his own lunches and even making his own pizza. Everyone is incredibly proud of how far you’ve come, Andrew – keep up the amazing work!
Community Champion Award – Janice Donbavand, Tameside
Janice’s kindness, creativity and love of helping others make her a thoroughly deserving winner of our Community Champion Award. A talented lifelong knitter, Janice quickly became a wonderful teacher when she joined a local Knit and Natter group, patiently guiding and encouraging others to get involved and create some lovely knitted pieces.
For many years, Janice has also knitted hats, bonnets and blankets for premature babies at her local hospital, taking great pride in knowing her creations are helping others.
Her generosity has inspired those around her and helped the Knit and Natter group go from strength to strength. Thank you, Janice, for using your wonderful talent to make such a difference in your community!

Host a panel
Creative Stars are judged by people we support, and you can take part by hosting a judging panel for one of the monthly rounds.
Holding a judging panel at your service is a great way to have your say and find out about all the amazing achievements of people we support across the country.
We will send you all the nominations, guidance and some special merchandise to say thank you.

Nominations can be submitted by staff, volunteers, people we support and family members.
Our next round will close on the 31st August so please submit before this date.
