Creative Stars – October Winners!
Congratulations to our latest round of Creative Stars winners!
Our awards for the people we support celebrate the people who shine brightly and do wonderful things for each other. We have four exciting category winners, who will receive a badge, £30 Love2Shop voucher and a certificate.
Congratulations to this month’s round of winners:
High Flyer Award – Rachel McConville, Birmingham
In just over a year, Rachel has made fantastic strides. After enjoying an art course, she decided to join more groups and enrol herself onto a photography course.
More recently, Rachel has been enjoying travelling on the bus and train again, including travelling independently to appointments and local volunteering opportunities.
Rachel’s growing confidence and willingness to try new things makes her an inspiration to us all!
Eco-friendly Award – Eddie Gilliat, Scunthorpe
Eddie has always been passionate about caring for the planet. He consistently recycles all of his own items and supports his neighbours with their recycling when they’re unable to do it themselves. He also volunteers at a local charity shop, where he helps sort stock and learns to serve customers – giving items a second life instead of going to waste.
Eddie loves meeting new people and is always keen to get involved, even planning to run a stall at a future community event.
Eddie’s commitment to the environment and his efforts to raise awareness of eco-friendly practices make him an excellent Eco-Friendly Star!
Positivity Award – Denise Adams, Darlington
Denise recently took up swimming and is already confidently completing an impressive 24 lengths.
Her dedication to staying active and taking on new challenges is wonderful to see. She prioritises her wellbeing and shows how embracing new goals can bring real joy.
Well done, Denise – a milestone you should be proud of!
Community Champion Award – Deyvani, Denton
Every year, Devyani hosts a Macmillan Coffee Morning to support the vital work of Macmillan Cancer Support. This year’s event brought together friends and members of the local community for a morning of cakes and conversation.
With a wonderful selection of homemade treats and her warm, welcoming charisma, Devyani created a friendly atmosphere where everyone felt at home. By the end of the morning, she had raised an impressive £137.68 for the charity.
Her generosity and ability to create a sense of community make this a truly memorable achievement!
Special thank you to
