Creative Stars – January Winners!

Creative Stars – January Winners!

Congratulations to our latest round of Creative Stars winners!

Our awards for the people we support celebrate the people who shine brightly and do wonderful things for each other. We have four exciting category winners, who will receive a badge, £30 Love2Shop voucher and a certificate.

Congratulations to this month’s round of winners:

High Flyer Award – Joanne, Tameside

Joanne hadn’t been abroad for over 30 years and had always dreamed of visiting Disneyland. With support from staff, she soon made that dream a reality.

Despite some travel setbacks – including a cancelled flight and unexpected taxi journeys – Joanne stayed positive and determined. She enjoyed exploring Disneyland, meeting characters and visiting the Eiffel Tower.

Although the journey home was delayed, Joanne didn’t mind, returning home tired but full of unforgettable memories.

Eco-Friendly Award – Hazel Cavanagh, Gateshead

Hazel consistently shows a strong commitment to protecting the environment and takes pride in encouraging energy-saving habits. She is passionate about switching off lights when they are not in use and regularly reminds others to do the same.

Through these small but meaningful actions, Hazel is helping to promote environmentally friendly choices within her service. It’s been wonderful to see the positive impact of her enthusiasm and the way she inspires those around her to make a difference every day.

Positivity Award – Alex Hannon, Staffordshire

Since moving into his new home in 2024, Alex has truly flourished. Although such a big life change can be challenging, he has embraced his new environment with open arms. Alex has also taken part in trying new experiences, including achieving his goal of spending time behind a pub bar – an opportunity he still proudly talks about.

He consistently gives 100% to any task and actively gets involved in daily activities. Alex has built new friendships and recently joined a weekly community group, where he enjoys cooking and learning new skills. Alex’s caring nature, positive attitude and wonderful sense of humour bring fun and warmth to those around him every day.

Community Champion – Louise, North Tyneside

Louise recently decided it was time for a spring clean and generously donated her unwanted items, including her sofa, to the British Heart Foundation. With support to arrange the collection, her thoughtful initiative raised an amazing £65 for charity.

Louise felt a real sense of pride and happiness knowing she had made a difference by supporting such a worthy cause. Her generosity not only raised valuable funds but also demonstrated wonderful community spirit and a commitment to helping others.
Well done, Louise, on your impactful contribution!
