Sleeping Well

Did you know we spend around 26 years of our lives sleeping, and another seven years trying fall asleep? In March, we want to encourage you to think about your sleep routine and see if you have any sleep habits preventing you from getting the best sleep possible.

Sleep is so important – it helps you focus, create memories, improve your mood, keep your heart healthy, maintain a strong immune system and much more. Most adults need at least seven hours of sleep per night and without that, we can become irritable or even unwell.

Our body goes through several different sleep cycles, and these help us to wake up feeling refreshed, clear-headed and focused. Things that can disrupt this cycle include alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, low mood and stress.

It can be really hard to get the sleep you need, especially if you are going through a big life change or experiencing something difficult. Start by making sleep a priority in your schedule and check out our healthy sleep tips to help you wake up feeling well-rested!
