Supported Housing Officer
Creative Support is a non-profit provider of personalised care and support for people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, autism spectrum conditions, and older people.
You will provide practical housing management activities centred on tenancy start up, closure and resettlement, overseeing repairs, health and safety monitoring, tenant consultation and addressing anti-social behaviour and neighbour disputes.
You will be responsible for providing advice and support to scheme staff on how to promote positive tenancy sustainment and proactively provide good tenancy management in properties owned and managed by Creative Support. You will take responsibility for carrying out formal and complex actions yourself including signing up tenants, supporting tenants with Housing Benefit applications, attending tenancy reviews whilst working alongside the housing officer.
You will be friendly, approachable and confident and able to communicate clearly with clients, staff and other partner agencies. You should not be averse to dealing with sometimes challenging and / or emotional cases and will demonstrate professionalism and empathy as necessary.
You will ideally have some knowledge of the current Housing Benefit system. You will need to be self-motivated with a keen interest in rules and regulations and how we can use this knowledge to better achieve positive outcomes for our tenants and maximise Creative Support’s income from its housing stock.
