Part-Time

The service aims to prevent and maintain the wellbeing of the people we support, as we provide service users access to one-to-one support in the hub and out in the community. In addition to this we also offer a timetable of wellbeing activities, mental health management sessions and social opportunities through our network of community-based groups. Once a week for four hours.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic volunteer to help run an Arts and Crafts group at our Dudley hub. At the moment the group meet to create arts and crafts around specific events such as Valentines Day, St. Patricks Day, Easter, etc, and we would like to move towards a consistent weekly session.

We are looking for someone who can take a proactive approach with running the group. The role includes discussing with the group and deciding what types of arts and crafts they would like to try. Planning the sessions and preparing materials and equipment. Ensuring that the arts and crafts are accessible for the group and making adjustments when needed. Making refreshments for the group and tidying away all materials and equipment at the end of each session, making sure the room is left clean and tidy.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and skilled in different types of arts and crafts. This could include painting, drawing, knitting, crochet, embroidery, weaving, macramé, sewing, paper-based crafts, felting, colouring, and many more. It would be great if the group could work towards projects together and gain a sense of achievement from the new skills they have learnt.

As a volunteer with Creative Support we offer training for your role, access to a volunteer supervisor, an induction, a monthly volunteer newsletter, and an online volunteer support network group on Zoom.

Volunteer Duties:

• Setting up for the activity, moving tables and chairs if necessary.
• Delivering the activity
• Coming up with ideas for new sessions.
• Clearing away at the end of the session.
• Helping to promote the sessions to service users.
• Preparing refreshments
