Creative Stars Winners – February

Creative Stars Winners – February

We’ve given our Service User Awards a brand new look, and would like to welcome you to the first round of ‘Creative Stars’! Our new awards celebrate the people who shine brightly and do wonderful things for each other.
Each month, you can send in nominations for people who you think deserve to be recognised. Each winner will receive a badge, £30 Love2Shop voucher and a certificate to recognise their achievement. All nominees will be recognised as Creative Stars and receive a certificate and badge.

Congratulations to this month’s round of winners:

High Flyer Award

Ruby, North East Lincolnshire

Ruby won our High Flyer award for her fantastic personal achievements lately. Ruby used to dislike activities of daily living, but recently she’s worked really hard with her staff to start engaging with a daily routine, including doing all her laundry and taking charge of her personal care, which has really improved her wellbeing and confidence.

Ruby’s family have also noticed a huge difference in her mood, as previously she would find it difficult to return to the service after trips out with her dad. Ruby has made fantastic progress, engaging positively with staff and feeling much more calm and relaxed, even standing at the door to wave goodbye which wouldn’t have been possible a few months ago.

Well done Ruby! You’ve been working really hard to make consistent changes and these have made such a positive difference. You’ve shown huge progress and your staff, friends and family are so proud, as are we!

“Ruby has been having better relationships with everyone at the service and is enjoying sharing”

Eco-friendly Award

Alex, Worcestershire

Alex has been impressing the staff at his service with how environmentally conscious he is with his everyday choices. From recycling and helping other tenants to learn, to cleaning up litter, Alex is taking the lead in being his local eco-friendly champion!

Alex found time to organise weekly litter pickings, as well as keeping two volunteer jobs and work around his daily routine. He’s taken the lead on maintaing the car park and green areas at his service, making it look welcoming to both residents and guests. Alex, you’re a superstar for helping not just your service, but the planet too!

“Alex feels proud and empowered by this, as it’s something he loves to do.”

Positivity Award

Aisha, Lancashire

Our positivity award goes to Aisha, who always has a lovely smile on her face and spreads positivity around the service!

Aisha has been showing a positive attitude towards improving her daily living skills, personal care and laundry on a daily basis. She’s also shown great commitment to improving her mental health, which is helping her make great steps towards her move-on plans.

Aisha says her new regime has made her feel “so much better in herself”. Well done Aisha, you’ve made some equally positive steps for both yourself and bringing joy to your service!

“Aisha has achieved a sense of responsibility and this has made her feel more independent”

Community Champion Award

Jimmy, North East Lincolnshire

Jimmy was nominated his fantastic engagement in local clubs, as well as bringing a smile to all those who are around him!

Jimmy is part of four clubs at his local leisure centre, including swimming, bikes and trikes, chair exercise and walking club. He’s made lots of friends including the staff at the centre, as he “brightens the room” whenever he comes in.

Jimmy is also part of the local social club, where this year he dressed up as Santa! These activities have all improved Jimmy’s physical and mental health, as he’s been enjoying going out more and socialising in the community.

Well done Jimmy, you’re a joy to those around you, and you’re a true Community Champion!

“Jimmy brings positivity to all, everywhere he goes!”

Congratulations to all our nominees for their achievements! Here are all of our amazing Creative Stars this month- look out for your certificates in the post!
