Job Reference: 85128

Closing Date: Wednesday 26th November 2025
Up to £27,943 per annum
Preston, Lancashire
Full-Time/Part-Time, Temporary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and practical individual to join our team at Space, a multi sensory centre, working to enable carers to use the sensory facilities to gain the maximum benefit for children and adults with additional needs.

The role would be for a minimum of 9 months (with a possible extension to 12 months), and potential permanent role opportunities after this point.

The nationally recognised Space Centre is proud to offer services 7 days a week. You must be committed, positive and person centred in your approach and have the ability to guide and nurture groups. Each day is different at The Space Centre, so the role requires an adaptable approach and a willingness to multitask. A large part of the Deputy Manager role is training colleagues and offering supervision, so good communication skills are a necessity along with administrative/IT skills. The role of deputy manager requires an understanding of the impact of a sensory environment and experience working with technology and the ability to trouble shoot.

Full time and part time hours will be considered, with part time being no less than 22.5 hours a week.

Shifts are based on a rota system between 9am – 8pm which will include days, evenings and weekends to be worked flexibly according to the needs of the service.

Applicants should have some life or work experience working with people with physical and/or learning disabilities, including working with those with Autism.

For further information, please contact The Space Centre on 01772 760403 and ask for Jane Robinson. Alternatively, email jane.robinson@creativesupport.org.uk should you have any other queries.
