Tuck Shop Volunteer

The Laurels is a Residential Home, with access to two communal lounges. We are looking for a volunteer to join us twice a week to help run our tuck shop.

In your role running the tuck shop you will be joined by one of our residents. Together with our resident you will set up the tuck shop and arrange the items in a way that is appealing and advertises our products. Together with our resident you will decide which items should be stocked including toiletries, sweets, nightwear, etc. You will be confident with customer service and help people to find items they request and suggest alternatives if necessary.

We are also looking for a volunteer who can help to promote the tuck shop by advertising to residents, this will be achieved by creating and displaying posters, chatting to residents and letting them know the products available on sale, and contributing to the service newsletter.

As a volunteer with Creative Support we offer training for your role, access to a volunteer supervisor, an induction, a monthly volunteer newsletter, and an online volunteer support network group on Zoom.

Volunteer Duties:

• Setting up the shop with our resident by arranging the items for sale.
• Promoting items for sale to residents.
• Handling cash/ card payments for items and making sure correct change is given.
• Making sure stock is in date.
• Carrying out stock checks and providing staff with info on items that need replenishing.
