Senior Support Worker
We are looking to recruit passionate and motivated Senior Support Workers with a genuine interest in providing quality care to the people we support and becoming part of our friendly and energetic staff team. Here we provide quality person-centred care and support to fifteen individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and additional mental health support needs to live exciting and independent lives. No two days will be the same at this service as we support service users in a supported living environment to follow their passions and engage in a range of activities including cooking/baking, walking, shopping and many more! The people we support advise they would like someone who is kind, chatty, funny, honest, happy, outgoing and caring.
Senior Support Worker duties include:
- Supervising, managing and mentoring a team of staff
- Developing and sustaining warm and trusting relationships with service users
- Encouraging service users to engage in a range of exciting social activities, both within and outside of their homes
- Providing personal care, administering medication and lone working
- Working full time hours (37.5) on a rota basis, covering 7 days per week, including waking nights
- You will be required to support with overseeing staff deployment and rotas and to work in a flexible manner yourself including working some evenings and weekends.
- Working closely with local multi-disciplinary teams and community based agencies to provide holistic, wrap-around support
- Facilitate service user engagement, involvement and peer support
- Ensure that there are robust methods of quality monitoring
You will provide excellent customer care and proactively communicate with stakeholders in respect to risk management and the care and welfare of the people we support. You will have a strong ethical duty of care and a commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
As this is a senior role, experience of supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs is required.
