Senior Support Worker
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Senior Support Worker to lead our fantastic team of staff in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside. Our service supports 4 gentleman who have learning disabilities within their own home. As a Senior Support Worker, you will assist with the coordination and delivery of outcome-focused support to service users.
You will be positive about supporting people with learning disabilities to increase their independence and promote life skills. Our service users enjoy a range of activities, such as swimming, gardening, walking and movie nights.
Your role will include:
- Developing and leading the team, enabling service users to have a high quality of life and to be valued members of the local community
- Shift co-ordination and assisting the management team
- Providing personal care, administering medication and lone working
At least one years’ experience in providing care and support to people with support needs is essential for this role. You must also hold or be willing to work towards the NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
You must be warm, well organised, and conscientious and demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills. You will be required to work on a rota, undertaking early, late and weekend duties as required.
