We are looking for a senior support worker within South Manchester Mental Health Service in Northenden, supporting adult females who have severe and enduring mental health diagnosis. The service provides 24 hour support which requires staff to fulfil sleep-ins as part of rota hours. The service is CQC (Care Quality Commission) registered for the activity of personal care. This is part of the provision for those who require this who live at the accommodation.

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, inclusive, organised and caring individual with leadership qualities to support people to achieve to greater independence. With the aim to work intensely with women to achieve move on using the trauma informed care, recovery and person centred practices. You will ensure a high standard of quality of life for the people supported working in collaboration with the women receiving a service as well as in partnership with agencies involved in the women’s support and care planning.

You will have excellent line management support and development from a CQC registered manager. You will join an established and experienced team. The role is fully supported through a probation period with consistent supervision and access to training to assist your learning and development.

 

Creative Support is proud to have been providing the service in Northenden for over 25 years. In 2016, the service remodelled from residential service to support accommodation to meet the change in need of women leaving hospital settings. During this time the service model has been able to develop and progress with the experiences people living with mental health have. The service has emphasis on bespoke support planning and key worker relationships. The key aim is to support women’s recovery journeys and ensure pathways for greater independence are available and can be achieved.

 

The role will involve practical assistance with daily living, support and delivery/access to a wide range of activities that promote personal wellbeing. Day to day oversight of rotas and staffing needs as they arise and excellent communication with line management/senior colleagues.

You will work flexible shifts on a rolling rota to meet individual needs in a personalised way.  Experience of supervising staff is desirable. Prior experience and possession of a relevant qualification is desirable.
