Creative Support is looking for a warm, reliable and proactive Support Worker to join our friendly staff team at Simonside Court in South Shields.  Here we provide quality care and support to people with a learning disability and other mental health and physical support needs.  You will be based within Simonside Court but providing specific 1:1 support to one gentleman we support in his bungalow on site.  No two days will be the same at this service as we support this gentleman out and about daily in the local community to engage in meaningful activities.  Additionally, there is opportunity to support twelve additional individuals who reside in the service when needed.  The gentleman we support has advised he would like a male support worker who is able to drive to enable him to access his activities in the community using his car and someone who is up for trying new experiences and can keep him motivated.

Your role will include:

  • Providing personal care, administering medication and lone working
  • Encouraging service users to engage in a range of exciting social activities both within and outside their homes
  • Confident and competent driver who can support with safe transportation to community destinations
  • Developing warm and trusting relationships with all of the people we support and their families enabling them to enjoy their time at the service to the fullest,
  • Supporting individuals who may have limited/poor mobility

We are looking for candidates from all walks of life. No previous care experience is needed, just a passion for providing person-centred care and support and working in a bright, friendly environment! A full, clean driving licence is essential for this role.
