Cooking Group Volunteer
Are you a good cook? Can you bake a cake? We’d love to find a volunteer who can run cooking sessions for our residents. Ideally you will be someone who will involve the residents in decisions about the sessions such as the cooking skills they would like to learn.
The sessions could include baking, food preparation skills, food hygiene information, or specific themes such as Indian cuisine, or learning how to recreate a favourite takeaway.
As part of this role you will undertake a food hygiene certificate with our Creative Training Academy.
Volunteer Duties:
- Setting up for the session, moving tables and chairs if necessary.
- Leading on the cooking session
- Coming up with ideas for recipes and skills to teach our residents
- Carrying out Food prep, and adhering to food hygiene standards
- Clearing away at the end of the session.
- Helping to promote the sessions to service users
As a volunteer with Creative Support we offer training for your role, access to a volunteer supervisor, an induction, a monthly Volunteer newsletter, and an online volunteer’s peer support group. Together we can make a difference.
Suggested Time Commitment: 4 hours per week
