Creative Support launches £10,000 fund to help staff through Coronavirus crisis
National care provider Creative Support has launched a new scheme to help staff and service users through financial difficulties caused by the impact of Coronavirus.
A letter sent to staff said: “We understand that this is a worrying time for everyone, particularly for those concerned about their finances. We recognise that some staff and service users may experience exceptional and particular hardship due to the impact of Coronavirus on their circumstances.”
Creative Support CEO, Anna Lunts, said: “Whilst we know we can’t help everyone who suffers financial loss due to the impact of the virus we would like to help as many of our employees and service users as possible. The next few months are likely to be challenging for our dedicated employees and we would like to ease any financial worries they have as much as we can.
“We are committed to supporting our employees who work so hard to make sure the people we support are safe and well. We know there will also be a number of service users who may suffer financial hardship due to the virus and we want them to know there is help available.”
An initial fund of £10,000 has been set aside to be distributed as discretionary grants and loans for both service users and staff. Applications of up to £500 for grants and loans between £500 and £1,000 will be considered from anyone who is employed by the organisation or anyone who receives Creative Support services.
Information on how to apply for the fund can be found at www.creativesupport.co.uk. All applications will be reviewed by a small panel and will be treated in the strictest confidence.
