Creative Support strives to achieve a high-quality service at all times, through our support workers, service managers and teams. This year we have seen an incredible sense of collective purpose to make things work and maintain an excellent level of service for the people we support. As we are still living and working through the Covid-19 pandemic we want to continue to recognise the exceptional efforts our staff are making at this time.

Congratulations to all of our amazing winners, it is people such as yourselves who have helped us become a leading provider of person-centred care across the UK.

Abigail has received this award for her hard work and determination in her role as Service Manager at Grove Court. She works alongside her staff team and supports and encourages them to work to the best of their abilities, which contributed to Grove Court’s five star ‘Outstanding’ rating from CQC. In addition to being described as ‘the best manager’, she works with a person-centred ethos and encourages her team to help their service users achieve their goals and live their best lives.

The team have received this award for their tireless work ethic in supporting each other and their service user, who sadly received a terminal diagnoses of cancer. The team pulled together exceptionally throughout this time, staying on top of the service users changing medication, and ensuring that even throughout Coronavirus her mum could keep visiting safely. Their compassion to support the service user, her family members and each other has been wonderful.

The team received this award for how they worked together to support a service user through a very difficult time. The gentleman had struggled with his mental health and developed aggressive behaviours, and throughout this the team worked together to ensure the safety of all, changing shifts to support staff and liaising with external agencies until they were able to get the medication he required.

Danielle received this award for her hard work and motivation in her new role as Support Coordinator. She is consistently supportive to service users and recently went above and beyond in helping service users who moved homes whilst transitioning out of a Coronavirus lockdown. Danielle also contributes to the running of three other supported living services and balances her many different responsibilities brilliantly.

The team at Grove Court Flat 12 received this award for the exceptional support they have shown to their service users during an extremely difficult time. The service experienced the unexpected loss of a service user, followed by another service user sadly receiving a terminal diagnosis. The team have supported the tenants through this difficult time, made even more challenging due to lockdown, providing emotional support and sourcing resources to help them explain grief in a person-centred, accessible way. The compassion, care, dignity and respect shown throughout this extremely difficult time was unmeasurable.

Jane moved into the service for several days and helped to swiftly implement procedures to manage the situation and worked as part of the emergency cover to reduce football in the service.

In the nomination Jackie Unsworth says “The staff and senior team at Maytree Court have been exceptional, their positive “can do” approach has been humbling, I feel very proud to be part of the Maytree Court team”.

The team demonstrated exceptional work ethic, compassion and courage to support each other and consistently provided a high quality of support to their service users.

Empowering Samantha has received this award for her exceptional efforts to continue running her WRAP groups in addition to her responsibilities as a support worker. Whilst following government guidance, she applied for and has received a grant to continue running this group over Zoom, which allows it to be accessible to service users across the Doncaster area.

Whitfield Lodge have received this award for pulling together as a team and working exceptionally hard to keep all the tenants they support safe throughout the Coronavirus pandemic. There have been a lot of changes in the service this year, followed by further changes due to the pandemic, and throughout this the team have demonstrated an excellent commitment to the service and the service users they support.
