Short Job Description:

About the Service: Creative Support has several support services across Berkshire, where we assist adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs and older people with mobility and memory difficulties. Our support ranges from a few hours per week to 24 hour assistance. Many of our residents are very active in the community, taking part in clubs and trips and supported by staff.

We are continuing to expand our services so at such an exciting time we require a range of promotional materials and continuous updates to documents. Due to our expansions there is a great potential for volunteer involvement in areas such as social media and marketing. There are central offices in Newbury, Wokingham, Reading and Slough, with the Reading office as the main coordination point.

Purpose of the role: As a Volunteer Communications Assistant you will have the opportunity to be involved in producing a range of documents including service leaflets, local area guides and newsletters. Both local staff and our head office marketing team will be able to guide you in creating these documents in line with our design scheme.

Our service users greatly enjoy taking part in trips and events, and as a Volunteer Communications Assistant you will be able to promote these to the local community. We would like to expand our local presence primarily through social media and community events, and volunteers will support staff to seek these events and to develop our social media presence.

We are seeking people with an organised, proactive and creative approach who will be able to develop our materials for both service users and the community. You will play a crucial role in the development of our organisation locally. By volunteering with us you will be enabling the great work of staff and service users to be celebrated in our local community.

Suggested Time Commitment: We would recommend 2 hours per week.
