Short Job Description:

Creative Coffee Shop is a new community café that provides supported employment opportunities for adults with support needs. The Coffee Shop, based in the new North Yorkshire Police Head Quarters at Northallerton, is open to both police HQ staff and members of the public and serves a variety of beverages and snacks.

The supported employment project offers a fantastic opportunity for adults with support needs to receive on the job training in how to make and serve food and drinks, as well as allowing them to develop their skills in customer service and money handling.

Purpose of the role: Volunteer Café Assistants will ensure that both the Creative Coffee Shop and the supported employment project are successful. You will provide support to our service users and assist in the day-to-day running of the café, providing a positive and welcoming atmosphere while assisting with customer service and food and beverage preparation. You will have the opportunity to meet and work with new people and be part of a dedicated and friendly team.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to develop skills and access training, including Level 2
Food Hygiene and Infection Control. This is a great opportunity for an individual who would like to be involved in a rewarding volunteer role, whilst developing skills in communication, customer service and food and drink preparation.

Suggested Time Commitment: We would suggest volunteers are able to commit to 2-3 hours, 1-2 days per week.
