Short Job Description:

Our Bradford Services work in a recovery focused way to provide person-centred care and support to enable people with mental health needs and / or autism to live as independently as possible in the community, and to maintain their tenancy with us. We engage with service users and build trusting therapeutic relationships.
We visit service users in their own flats at the service and in other settings, and offer practical support to enable them to live independently while also providing emotional support in accordance with their individual support plan. We work closely with other professionals and agencies to provide a co-ordinated personalised service which meets the identified needs of individuals, promotes their recovery and maintains their quality of life.
Within Bradford, we have a variety of services including our Enablement Service, Accommodation Services and Floating Support. We always endeavour to support our service users in a holistic, responsive and flexible way, with a positive approach.
As a Volunteer Communications Assistant you will develop, promote and edit the monthly newsletter for all service users within the Bradford Services. You’ll collect good news stories for the newsletter by talking to service users and staff across our services via email, telephone and in person.
You will have the opportunity to attend activities and events taking place at our services, take photographs and create write ups for the newsletter and other promotional material. In addition to writing content, you will liaise with our staff to encourage our service users to contribute to the newsletter.
This role would suit someone who enjoys writing and wants to gain experience working with people with mental health needs.
