Short Job Description:

Our Bradford Services work in a recovery focused way to provide person-centred care and support to enable people with mental health needs and / or autism to live as independently as possible in the community, and to maintain their tenancy with us. We engage with service users and build trusting therapeutic relationships.
We visit service users in their own flats at the service and in other settings, and offer practical support to enable them to live independently while also providing emotional support in accordance with their individual support plan. We work closely with other professionals and agencies to provide a co-ordinated personalised service which meets the identified needs of individuals, promotes their recovery and maintains their quality of life.
Within Bradford, we have a variety of services including our Enablement Service, Accommodation Services and Floating Support. We always endeavour to support our service users in a holistic, responsive and flexible way, with a positive approach.
As a Volunteer Activity Assistant, you will assist staff in the development, promotion and facilitation of monthly social events for services users in the Bradford area. You will work collaboratively with the Service User Steering Group to develop themes, venues and activities and create suitable events for service users to enjoy.
There is flexibility for you to bring your own ideas for social events to the role, and we welcome your input and ideas. You will have the opportunity to promote activities and social groups to our service users with the support of the Volunteer Communications Assistant. Ideally we’re seeking applicants who can offer 3-4 hours per week. Travel will be required throughout the Bradford Services, which will be fully reimbursed.
