Creative Support is a non-profit provider of personalised care and support for people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, autism spectrum conditions, and older people. We support the 17 service users living at our Jarrow service to live independently.

 

We are looking for an experienced Relief Support Worker to provide person-centred support to people with a learning disability in Jarrow, South Tyneside. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing intimate personal care, practical and emotional to people with a learning disability
  • Identifying and accessing opportunities with the service users to support them to lead meaningful and fulfilling lifestyles
  • Support individuals in the community with various activities. Including- shopping, disco & health appointments
  • Collaborating with service users, families, and involved professionals to provide a consistent and coordinated service that meets the needs of service users
  • Assisting the line manager with the day-to-day running of the service
  • Working as part of a team and alone in service user homes

Experience of working with people with a learning disability is essential. A relevant professional qualification is desirable. You must be warm and able to work in a person-centred way with people with a learning disability.

 

This Relief Support Worker role is based on a zero hour contract. You will be expected to work flexibly to meet the needs of the Jarrow service, including evenings, weekends, bank holidays & possibly sleep-ins. You will be paid on a weekly basis.

Creative Support has obtained Investors in People Silver status and you will receive ongoing training regarding the service user group you work with and training regarding changes to the law governing social care.

 

As a Creative Support Bank Staff member you will have access to our free app which allows you to pick up shifts in any area of the country, provides information on the service and shifts as well as directions.
