10 Minute Workouts

Ten minutes of exercise does not sound like a lot of time. It is approximately the same amount of time it takes to boil your pasta for tonight’s tea. So the thought of improving your health and wellbeing in only ten minutes sounds impossible! Surely I would need to dedicate an hour of my time at the gym?

However, thankfully, the NHS has recently found that a 10 minute brisk walk can help reduce stress, boost energy and over time reduce the risk of serious illnesses such as type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. They have also developed a free app for your smartphone, called Active 10, that is a fantastic way to track your progress and set personal goals.

Maybe walking isn’t for you? Maybe you need to fit in your workout at home, whilst you’re boiling your pasta? Luckily the NHS has also devised many “at home” workouts that last only 10 minutes. These equipment-free fitness routines are easy to fit into your daily schedule and will help improve your overall health and strengthen your muscles.

Still think 10 minutes is too short?
