Calling All DJs: Your Chance to Present a Live Radio Show!
In our latest blog, Creative Support service user Tony tells us about his experiences of being a radio presenter on the inclusive online station LDOK.net, and explains why you should get involved:
“My time as an LDOK radio presenter has been a great journey and experience. It began in the summer of 2013 (which sounds a little like the Bryan Adams song ‘Summer of ’69’!), hosting the weekly Creative Support show every so often.
I now have my own two-hour slot which is recorded and broadcast live from 12-2pm every Wednesday and repeated several times throughout the week. ‘Tony’s Time Machine’ features my favourite music and audience requests, chat, news stories from yesteryear and much more, so be sure to tune in!
My show has a different theme every week. As well as exploring issues related to mental health, I’ve invited some great people to join me on air.
Guests on my show so far have included Breakthrough music tutor Charly, staff member Tony, and England and Lancashire cricketer Jonathan Fielding – a true record breaker, but luckily not when it comes to vinyl!
Anyone who’s interested in becoming a presenter like I did should call Ben Thomas on 0161 236 0829 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to book a visit to the studio. I promise you’ll enjoy it just as much as I do!”
