Creative Café Open Day in Hartlepool

Our Choices For Life service in Hartlepool celebrated the opening of their new premises and Creative Café with an open day on Friday 5th July.

The event, attended by guests including the Leader of Hartlepool Borough Council Christopher Akers-Belcher, included musical entertainment, craft sessions and an opportunity to tour the venue and sample some of the delicious food on offer.

Maureen Hanley, Development Worker at Choices for Life, said:

“Local people will benefit from getting involved in our exciting sessions, the café is somewhere to chill out and mental health resources are available, and we’re developing a massive training package for volunteers with Hartlepool Adult Education.”

Jess Watson, Lead Sessional Activity Worker, added:

“It’s a very social atmosphere, people living with mental health needs get so much out of getting involved in the sessions, and to see them leave the service and go into employment is very rewarding.”

Take a look at a gallery of photos from the event below, and for more information email choicesforlife@creativesupport.org.uk.
