Brian’s Blog: Number Fourteen – Travels With A Friend

Brian is a regular blogger for the Creative Support blog. Here is his latest post on what he has been up to recently.

On Monday the 1st April we visited the historic city of York in the company of Linda Robinson, one of my support team. This had come about at my request to avoid my old routine of pub and telly (does that sound familiar to anyone reading this?). So we set off early in the morning for our little excursion from Middlesbrough train station and chatted on the journey of what we would seek out during the day. Once we arrived, though, all plans (as so often happens) left on the next train. Instead we set out on our adventure with no set ideas, which was a much better start to the day. I found myself strolling round the streets with Linda and we would draw each other’s attention to shops, street entertainers, and various sights that attracted the attention of either of us. I feel it’s time I should mention that at no time was my beautiful assistant guiding me – to anyone observing us we were two people enjoying all the sights that this city offers. We broke to enjoy a pleasant pub lunch. Linda was  an excellent choice for my support for the day. To anyone reading this I must stress – do not have any reservations about speaking to your team about any similar days you feel you would enjoy.
