Brian’s Blog: Number Thirteen
Brian is a regular blogger for the Creative Support blog. Here is his latest post on what he has been up to recently.
Hello Brian here,
Just thought it was time I brought you up to speed, especially to those people out there in IT land. I would like to let you all know what’s going on with yours truly these days. Since arriving here the changes in me have been continuous. But don’t think for a minute they have put me under strain. My support team seem to have an uncanny knack to gauge the level and type of support that best gains a productive response from me!
I think it’s reasonable to think every service user who crosses the step into this project gets just as beneficial support as I do.
The team have ensured fairly routine tasks which are important for my daily living independence skills such as waste bins being put out, pavements and other footpaths kept clear of snow and such like.
I feel in some way I am giving a little back to the service because I have finally realised that this is my home! I can now develop my future improvements with the assistance of the Creative Support team.
I have made small improvements with consistent chances. For example the old routine of collecting benefits money and making a bee line for the local pub. I now find myself thinking of the food shopping that my benefit money has to pay for first then I feel able to consider remaining funds as an expendable social pleasure. I am all too aware of my previous self that used to consider alcohol as the prime need in my life and now that has changed for the better.
