Brian’s Blog: Number Eleven
Brian is a regular blogger for the Creative Support blog. Here is his latest post on what he has been up to recently.
Here we are with another blog – Now the weather is starting to take a turn for the better we can start to look into a number of things that have been on hold. First of all there’s our Walking Group. We have already heard from a number of people interested in joining Mark (Project Manager) myself and Stephen on future walks. Currently we are trying to decide on the areas of interest for the walks and would be interested to hear from staff and service users who can suggest areas of interest.
For myself, the proposal that we try to organise quiz nights again in conjunction with other local services is still being pursued. One idea that might work would be to make these general social evenings. This could be along the lines of combined disco/karaoke with the quiz being used to break up the evening. I believe more people would find this to be enjoyable than just one or the other. When I spoke with the new Development Officer recently he seemed to be very interested in looking further into this sort of thing so I’ll wait to here from him.
On another area I really enjoy attending the local consultation meetings and hope there will be more of them soon. To finish (“at last!”, I hear!) I want to participate in any training which both my support team and the regional office believe I would benefit from. Since coming under the wings of Creative Support I have found myself enjoying things that I could only have dreamt of.
That’s all for now, Brian.
