Service User Achievement Awards – December and January’s Winners Announced!

Congratulations to Lyn from Liverpool, the winner of January’s Service User Achievement Award. She was nominated by Hannah, who said:

“Lyn has a very active life and completed a 53 mile bike ride from Liverpool to Chester and back in the summer. Lyn is an inspiration to anyone who feels that their disability may hold them back”.

Other highly commended nominees in January included Stuart from Manchester who organises fundraising events, Kim from Middlesbrough who has made positive decisions to change her lifestyle, Ray from Cleavleys who has grown in confidence and helps, supports and guides other service users, and Christiana from Manchester who is involved in a wide number of activities which showcase her many talents.

December’s Service User Achievement Award was won by Bonnie from Middlesbrough. She was nominated by Liz, who said:

“Bonnie has had an extremely difficult year and has had to adjust to living alone. Throughout everything she has remained positive and upbeat and always has time for the other tenants. Bonnie has been an inspiration to both staff and tenants at Belle Vue Grove”.

Other highly commended nominees in December included Deborah from Birmingham who is exercising and quitting smoking, Ian and Derek from Staffordshire who have taken part in a socialisation and communication course, and Deborah from Manchester who has been awarded a swimming certificate.

    I would like to nominate Jacqui for her strength to survive and accomplishing some huge personal achievements during the 7 months I have supported her. During this time she has been swimming for the first time in many many years and recently confronted her anxiety and fears to enjoy her first holiday in over ten years.
