Art Exhibition Round Up
For the past four weeks, our art exhibition has been touring the country, showcasing the amazing creative talents of Creative Support’s service users. The show visited venues in Manchester, London, Reading, Birmingham, Middlesbrough, South Shields and Leeds.
We received plenty of positive comments from the people who came along. Roy Havery and Elaine Horrocks, members of our Board of Trustees who attended the show on Oxford Street in London, said:
“This is a wonderful showcase for our talented and exceptional service users. Such an amazing selection of different styles and a high standard of work. Art as a means of therapy really does break down barriers.”
The British Association of Art Therapists offers lots of useful information on how creativity can benefit people with support needs, and you can visit their website to find out more.
If you still haven’t seen the exhibition, we’re still planning one or two final dates, so look out for more information coming soon!
Or, better still, why not take part in some artistic activities yourself? Pick up some paints or a pen and paper, take a look at the photo gallery below for inspiration, and make your own masterpiece!
