Open Day at Bredon Respite!

Our Bredon Respite Care Service in Runcorn held an open day on Saturday 8th September to give families, care professionals and members of the local community the opportunity to visit the service.

The event was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Halton, Tom and Angela McInerney, who met service users and staff and even took part in a line dancing class! The Mayor and Mayoress wore cowboy hats and showed off their new moves during the session, which was organised by members of Silver Star, a local line dancing group.

Guests at the event also enjoyed tea and cakes, arts and craft sessions, a raffle and a tombola, and made the most of the sunshine on the day. There was also a demonstration of sensory equipment by The Sensory Company. At the event, we raised enough money to purchase sensory equipment and a pool table for the service.

Gill Evans, Registered Manager at Bredon Respite Care Service, said:

“I’d like to thank everyone for coming along to our open day, including the Mayor and Mayoress of Halton. The sun was shining and everyone enjoyed themselves at the event. It was a fantastic day”

The Mayor commented:

“We are delighted with the facilities shown to us at Bredon. We felt that the warmth of the staff, service users and parents was obvious to see, and made the whole place really special”
