Congratulation’s to Carol from Hartlepool, the winner of this month’s Service User Achievement Award. She was nominated by Samantha, who said:
“Carol has made a massive move forward in her life by building in confidence and pushing herself to access public transport alone. She now gets on the bus with no support for the first time in 10 years, which is an outstanding achievement and a very big step for her. With more time and encouragement, Carol hopes to be able to go into town and shop alone”.
She will receive £50 gift voucher in recognition of her success!
Other highly commended nominees included David from Grimsby who has become more independent and begun accessing his local community, Zahrah from Manchester for making dramatic changes to her lifestyle, David from Halifax who has been building new friendships, and Stephen from Middlesbrough in recognition of his enthusiastic participation in his project’s gardening activities.
