New West Midlands Service Launched
Creative Support’s new Mental Health Hub and Spoke Recovery Service, commissioned by the Birmingham Primary Care Team, was recently launched in the West Midlands.
The launch day was a great success with over 100 people, including service users, staff and representatives from local agencies, in attendance. The building was buzzing with visitors taking advantage of the new facilities, which include the Healthy Eating Café, the new IT suite and the brand new, fully equipped music studio that benefits from a range of instruments and multi-track recording programmes. Service users and staff showed off their talents in the music room and indulged in the free Reflexology and Indian Head massage taster sessions, and guests also received help and advice from the benefits team from Birmingham City Council. The service received a lot of positive feedback on the day, and people praised the lovely building and the friendly atmosphere.
The Hub and Spoke Day Service will provide members with a range of activities such as a drop in service, creative arts, health and wellbeing groups, and music and sessional work focusing on the management of anxiety and depression using a CBT approach. The service will signpost and support individuals to access education, training and employment opportunities and enable them to develop social links and engage in activities that aid recovery, independent living and mental wellbeing.
