Tuesday 8 March is International Women’s Day – celebrate it with Creative Support!
Tuesday 8th March is International Women’s Day and to celebrate we are hosting a fun day of inspirational speakers, fashion workshops, craft sessions, ‘Being An Inspirational Woman’ empowerment workshops, cupcakes, beauty therapies and a clothes swap at the St. Thomas Centre (GMCVO) in Ardwick, Manchester, 11am – 4pm.
We’re pleased to be welcoming inspirational speakers from George House Trust and Mustard Tree and Cathy Skelton and Clare Haslam, Creative Support service users will be sharing their unique and inspirational stories.
We’re accepting donations for the clothes swap and raffle in advance and on the day – any items in good, clean condition (clothes, shoes, accessories, unwanted gifts) will be warmly welcomed by the Marketing Team at head office. This is a fantastic opportunity to rummage in the depths of your wardrobe and give those unwanted clothes a new lease of life so dig deep!
Proceeds from ticket sales, cupcakes, the raffle and donations on the day will be donated to Manchester Women’s Aid. Our donation will be earmarked for the Community Outreach project which helps women with insecure immigration status who have no access to public funds. This is often women who have entered the UK as a dependant on their partner’s passport, who find themselves in legal and financial difficulty if they try to leave their abusive partner. Manchester Women’s Aid helps by providing support, advice and money for prescriptions, toiletries, food and clothes. See the Women’s Aid website for more details. We’re really proud to be supporting such an honourable and worthy cause.
Tickets are just £3 each, which includes lunch and all activities – get yours now by calling Tasha Kirby at Creative Support’s head office on 0161 236 0829.
Everyone is welcome – we’re looking forward to seeing you there!
