Creative Support’s 20th Anniversary Awards Ceremony

On Wednesday 27th October, 450 service users, staff and stakeholders celebrated Creative Support’s 20th Anniversary at a gala Awards Ceremony at the Palace Hotel in Manchester. We were pleased to welcome the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Mark Hackett, who presented trophies to the winners of the Creativity Competitions. Guests were treated to musical entertainment from 3 bands, all of which included service users and staff with outstanding musical talent: The Bay City Strollers from Morecambe; John Williams and Ronnie Hoyte from Manchester; and band Carlo from Birmingham.

There was also a special video booth where service users and staff shared their stories, memories and dreams for the future, to contribute to the Creative Support film that will be shown on Manchester’s own Channel M (also available on Sky and Virgin) throughout December.

The party was fantastic, everyone enjoyed it and looked gorgeous in their fancy dress. I was the king of the dance floor. Thank you everyone! – Stuart, Manchester

I had a really good day, there had been so much effort put in and it made everyone feel so special! – Helen Anderson, Redcar, Creative Writing Winner

It was the first time that Tameside have ever been put forward for anything at Creative Support and it has put a lot of morale in the staff team. They feel proud and motivated to put more ideas into place and hopefully other projects in the area will be more inspired to come up with new ideas and make things better for everyone! – Valda, Oldham Road Team Leader
