Friday 30th October was national Wear It Pink day in aid of the Breast Cancer Campaign. Staff and service users at Creative Support’s head office and some of our projects, joined in the activities, raising money for this important cause.
At Cringle Road, everyone wore pink and some even had pink hair! All the tenants got together to bake pink cakes and play on the Nintendo Wii, which they bought with a service user grant. Some of the outreach tenants participated as well, so it was a good social day for all!
The Wolverhampton Women’s Wellbeing Centre did cancer awareness a day early so it didn’t clash with Halloween. The ladies dressed in pink and also made a special ‘Bra’ cake with marshmallow nipples. Definitely some creative thinking going on here!
Staff and service users at Bellevue Grove dressed up in pink, with some even going out to buy dress up things to get in the full spirit of the day. They held a cake bake, making biscuits and cakes, which they sold to the local projects in the area and the regional office in Stockton. They also had a pink raffle, for a hamper full of pink items. A great day was had by all!
So far we have raised £150, with some projects still to send in their collections! Congratulations and thanks to all who participated!
